Blue Jays’ Reese McGuire Cuts Plea Deal in Public Masturbation Case from February

Blue Jays catcher Reese McGuire was arrested in Dunedin, Florida back in February for “exposure of sexual organs” after allegedly masturbating in a public parking lot. According to TMZ, McGuire has cut a plea deal with prosecutors for a second-degree misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. His only punishment will be that of fines and court costs.

Back in February, the 25-year-old who has played in 44 career games with the Blue Jays was said to have “exposed his genitals” with his sweatpants down to his ankles when police arrived at the scene.

McGuire was very apologetic for his actions after being reported and arrested, saying: “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, this is really embarrassing. I really shouldn’t have been doing that.”

Initially charged with first-degree misdemeanor of “exposure of sexual organs,” McGuire was facing up to a year if convicted.

Fortunately for him, it appears that McGuire got off this time (no pun intended).

McGuire is expected to be the back-up catcher for the Blue Jays this season and likely reported the team’s July spring training with his pants on.
