Austin Ekeler Announces That His Rehab Is Complete

Chargers running back Austin Ekeler has worked his tail off after an injury early in the year. Today, he announced on his Instagram page that he is ready to play football again.

Austin Ekeler shared a video of him squatting and said, “Making 405 look easy today. I’ve checked all the boxes in my rehab. The only thing to do next is to play.”

Ekeler recently shared a message to any one of his fantasy football owners that stuck with him through the long injury.

“To all my fantasy owners that didn’t drop me…the time draws near,” Ekeler posted on Nov.12. Well, that team could very well be now.

Austin Ekeler hyperextended his knee in week four. At that time, it was expected that the running back would miss about 4-6 weeks. It ended up being a little bit longer, as the Chargers opted to proceed with caution. There was no need to rush Ekeler back, as the Chargers don’t figure to be in the playoff hunt for this season. However, there is a lot of reason for optimism if you are a Chargers fan.

Justin Herbert looks like a stud, and he will only keep getting better. Herbert and Ekeler should make for a very talented backfield in Los Angeles.
