Chargers Head Coach Brandon Staley Gives Injury Update on Justin Herbert Ribs Following X-Rays

Justin Herbert is definitely feeling pretty sore today.

In the fourth quarter of the Chargers’ Thursday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Chargers Quarterback Justin Herbert was delivered a blow in the midsection, leaving him on the ground in some serious pain. After getting x-rays following the game, it has been revealed that Chargers’ head coach believes Herbert will be okay going forward. They did not reveal the results of the x-rays, but Brandon Staley stated that he is not concerned going forward.

Staley added that he would know more today regarding the status of Herbert, who underwent X-rays following the game and did not speak to the media.

The sore ribs didn’t prevent Chargers QB Justin Herbert from leading a comeback attempt that had social media circles on fire. During the final drive of the game, Justin Herbert was in so much pain that he had to throw the ball away instead of take a wide-open running lane for a first down. However, on the very next play he delivered a strike to DeAndre Carter to put LA in scoring range.

Watch the play below:

The Chargers scored and were able to get an onside kick attempt to almost go their way after the Chiefs bobbled the recovery. KC ended up on the ball, and was able to kneel out the clock.

Just imagine how legendary Herbert would have been if he could have somehow won the game.

Still a tough son of a gun.
