Report: Myles Garrett Crash Details, Video Revealed as He Was Trying to Avoid Hitting an Animal

Myles Garrett is lucky to be alive.

The Cleveland Browns defensive superstar has been released from the hospital after being involved in a car accident when leaving the team’s training facility on Monday. Myles Garrett was discharged from the hospital late Monday night with non-life-threatening injuries after his Porsche 911 Turbo S rolled several times after he reportedly swerved on a wet road to avoid hitting an animal, the NFL Network reported Tuesday.

“Myles Garrett was discharged from the hospital Monday night, per source.

More tests coming. The good news is Garrett’s injuries aren’t life-threatening. He swerved to avoid an animal on a wet road and overcorrected. Car flipped multiple times. Could’ve been worse.”

According to police, Garrett and the female passenger in the car were both wearing their seatbelts. Neither drugs nor alcohol were discovered at the crash scene.

Garrett’s agent Nicole Lynn later released a statement saying he was “alert and responsive” following the accident. She added that officials “are waiting to learn the extent of his injuries,” but later told ESPN’s Jake Trotter Garrett suffered no broken bones and is expected to be released from the hospital.

“The Garrett family would like to thank the medical personnel that got Myles and his passenger out of the vehicle and safely transported to the hospital,” Lynn wrote on Twitter.

Body camera footage from the Medina County Sherriff’s Office showed the Cleveland Browns defensive star and a woman on the ground after the Porsche Garrett was driving slid off the road.

Garrett’s status for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons is still unknown.

Garrett, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, finished with a career-high 16 sacks last season. So far in 2022, he has three sacks and a forced fumble through the first three games.
