Browns Running Back Nick Chubb Takes Apparent Shot at Baker Mayfield Over ‘Consistency’

The war between the Cleveland Browns and Baker Mayfield wages on.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb has entered the conversation when it comes to speaking on his former teammate, which may or may not have been intentional. Chubb spoke about how the Cleveland Browns are feeling about facing their former QB, Baker Mayfield, in the season opener. Chubb spoke today about what he and the Browns expect from Baker Mayfield, who is now looking forward to getting things going for the Carolina Panthers. Chubb pointed out that the Browns know Mayfield very well, but may have made something of an admission with his conclusion.

“We all know Baker, so I don’t know what to expect”

That sounds like shots fired to me. In some ways that kind of inconsistency can be tough to defend against, because you just don’t know what he’s going to bring to any given game. That being said, Baker has enough of a track record in the NFL where he’ll probably have the same mistakes happen to him in Carolina.

The question of consistency could be bad news for the Cleveland Browns in this case. Baker Mayfield has a 30-30 record in his career.

That’s just the kind of QB Baker Mayfield is, you really never know what Baker you’re going to see on a weekly basis.
