Joe Burrow Calls For Harsher Gun Control Laws

Count Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow among the many prominent athletes speaking out on gun control.

Following the elementary school shooting last month, many Americans are calling on politicians to outlaw certain types of guns, or at least make them more difficult to purchase, and Burrow is one of the majority of people who would support  that sentiment.

Speaking at Bengals minicamp on Tuesday, Joe Burrow voiced his concerns.

“If you’re not going to outlaw everything, you’ve gotta at least make it harder to get those crazy guns that everybody’s using,” Burrow said. “You shouldn’t be able to just walk in and buy one. You got to be able to go through a rigorous process to be able to buy something like that, I think.

“Hopefully, the people who get paid to make those decisions to figure that out. My job is to play football, but hopefully the politicians can figure that one out.”

Joe Burrow is turning into one of the most marketable young stars in the league, and it’s impressive to see him use his platform to speak on some uncomfortable subjects.

Last season, Burrow led a surprising Bengals team all the way to the Super Bowl before their dream run was spoiled by the Rams, so we’d expect him to come out with a vengeance this year.

One thing is clear: it’s nearly impossible not to like Joe Burrow.
