Kid-Punching Pee Wee Football Coach Now Facing Criminal Charges

The Pee Wee football coach who was caught on film punching one of his players in the head twice has been all the talk on the web this week. The likes of LeBron James, Shawn Merriman, Shannon Sharpe, and more came out to condemn the man for his disgusting act. If you haven’t seen the video, here it is.

The coach has been identified as Gerrell Williams. Originally, Williams was not going to face criminal charges, as the child’s mother refused. Now, it looks like law enforcement will be moving forward with assault charges against the coach, even without the family’s request.

“The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office along with our local state attorney’s office have reviewed this case and the decision has been made that charges for child abuse will be filed, regardless of parent’s decision not to press charges,” Maj. Jacob Ruizsaid said in a statement Friday via Total Pro Sports. “The actions of this person are despicable and there is zero tolerance when it comes to the abuse of a child.”

I hope this man gets locked up for this act. There is never an excuse to strike a 9-year-old child, especially for something he did in a football game. Parents trusted this man to lead their children, and he failed miserably. What a complete piece of sh*t this guy is.
