The Falcons Are Reportedly Zeroing In On Their Next Head Coach

The Atlanta Falcons have an interesting decision to make on the direction of their franchise. They have a solid foundation on offense with Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, and have proven that they can put up points. However, the defense has failed them in recent years, and it may be best to just start to rebuild the team with a new head coach.

After firing Dan Quinn mid-season, the Falcons have had a lot of time to think about who that coach will be. It seems like they may have their answer.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith could be turning into the front runner for the Falcons gig.

“Several people around league have believed #Titans OC Arthur Smith is the front-runner for the #Falcons job. #Panthers OC Joe Brady still in the mix and did well in his interview. But with Smith having a second ATL interview today (as NFL Network said), could become his to lose,” Fowler said in a tweet.

Is sure looks like the Falcons job is coming down to Brady and Smith, who both have backgrounds building successful offenses. While Joe Brady has an impressive resume between working with Joe Burrow at LSU and Matt Rhule in Carolina, it looks like Arthur Smith is the guy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Falcons announce Arthur Smith as their head coach very soon.
