Ian Book and the #2 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish are starting for feel real frisky. After pulling off the upset against the first ranked Clemson Tigers last weekend, they completely steam rolled a tough Boston College team today. The best part for Irish fans? Their quarterback is coming into his own right before our very eyes.
Ian Book is absolutely shredding Boston College, this time on the ground. Irish quarterback’s play has jumped a couple levels into November.
Good sign for Notre Dame. The best sign, really.

Ian Book has 3 Pass TD and a rush TD in a game for the 2nd time in his career.
The only other ND players to do so twice over the last 15 seasons are DeShone Kizer (3) and Everett Golson (2).

To make matters worse for Boston College, their QB Phil Jurkovec started his career at Notre Dame. Some people around college football even thought Notre Dame screwed up by not giving Jurkovec a chance to compete with Ian Book for the starting gig. Jurkovec went out of his way to talk a little shit before the showdown against his old team.
“I was going to eventually play at Notre Dame. I wasn’t going to go my whole career and not play,” Jurkovec told the Post Gazette. “But really, the main reason why I left was the frustration of not progressing. I knew coming out of high school, I needed to go somewhere and develop. I thought Notre Dame was the place. I think I developed in a lot of ways. But in quarterback play, I think I regressed in certain areas over time. It was incredibly frustrating. … At times, it got to the point where I could not even throw the ball at all. My footwork was all jacked up.
Ian Book showed Jurkovec that Notre Dame can develop a quarterback just fine. He also answered any questions on who the better player is.

Notre Dame should feel very confident with Ian Book as their quarterback. He’s starting to look like the type of kid that can bring a National Championship trophy to South Bend for the first time since 1988. It’s a good time to be a Fighting Irish fan.
