Cody Bellinger Got Cast In The New Assassin’s Creed Video Game

If you thought 2020 couldn’t get any better for World Series Champion Cody Bellinger you were dead wrong. Bellinger’s thrilling fall is about to get even more exciting. His next big accomplishment will be a role in the popular video game series Assassin’s Creed. The newest installment in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, comes out November 10. Bellinger will be featured as a character in the game, and he’s even got a name!

Cody Bellinger says his in-game character will be named Otta Sluggasson. If that doesn’t sound enough like a baseball player to you, his character even looks like one. Otta Sluggasson will wield a huge, spiked baseball bat and wear eye-black. Check out Cody Bellinger in the new Assassin’s Creed below.

Ubisoft describes Bellinger’s character as “a Dane with a knack for hitting rocks very, very far.” The World Series champion’s role seems like more than just a nice little cameo. Cody Bellinger even has his own motion-capture and voiceover work for his character. Here’s what he had to say about his role in the new game:

“I’m excited. I love video games, so when I heard I had the opportunity to be a character in a big video game, I was excited, I really was,” Bellinger told ESPN. “I’m kind of a video game nerd. My brother and I played Assassin’s Creed back in the day and used to love it. The graphics are so realistic. It’s a game that will take up a lot of your time.”

Cody Bellinger revealed a little bit about the game’s story mode and how his character factors in. He said that players have to beat his character in a series of challenges in order to advance. This is a pretty cool opportunity for Bellinger. Personally, I think Bellinger’s teammate, Justin Turner, would be more fit to play a Viking. However, we all know he’s in a bit of hot water right now.

You can check out Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in less than one week from today. If you want to know more about the game I guess you’ll just have to wait until November 10. Good thing it’s right around the corner.
