Speculation Surrounds Tom Brady’s “That Motherf**er” Comments After Dana White’s Raiders Admission

During Rob Gronkowski’s simulcast of UFC 278, Dana White made a pretty massive revelation about the tight end and his longtime teammate, Tom Brady.

According to White, the Raiders had a deal in place to bring in both TB12 and Gronk in 2020. But after Jon Gruden nixed the whole thing, they ended up landing in Tampa Bay.

“I worked to put that deal together for Brady and Gronk to come to the Raiders,” White said on the broadcast via ESPN. “It was almost a done deal. And at the last minute, Gruden blew the deal up and said that he didn’t want him and all hell broke loose, man. It was crazy.

“And Brady was already looking at houses. It wasn’t said yet that Gronk was going to be coming. So Las Vegas would have had Brady and Gronk the year that the Bucs won the Super Bowl except Gruden blew the deal up.”

Of course, this could very well mean that Derek Carr is the “Mother**ker” Tom Brady mentioned when talking about a team who passed on him.

“One of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end,” Brady said during an appearance on HBO’s “The Shop” last offseason. “I was thinking, you’re sticking with that motherf–ker?”

After Dana White’s story on Saturday, many believe it was Derek Carr who Brady was referring to.

If Tom Brady really was throwing some shade at Derek Carr, it would be kind of unfair.

After all, Carr has proven time and time again that he’s a top 10 quarterback in the NFL despite all the dysfunction he’s had to deal with over the years with the Raiders.

Last season, Carr turned in another impressive season to lead to Raiders to the playoffs despite Gruden’s ousting along with several legal issues on their roster. He threw for 4,804 yards to go along with 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Obviously, there were many teams who were probably “in” on Tom Brady when he became available in 2020 who didn’t end up pulling the trigger on a deal. So it’s probably jumping the gun a little bit to automatically assume Brady was throwing Carr under the bus.
