Everyone knows that LeBron James may just be a player in the NBA, but that he is truly the GM of whichever team he is on.

Anthony stated that he has known LeBron since he was about 15 – 16 years old and that it was a “real call”, “no bullshit”. Melo added that he wasn’t expecting the call, but that the two had discussed teaming up a couple years ago.

Melo will be joining the Lakers who went through a bit of a remodeling phase this off-season as the team was bounced from the NBA Playoffs in 6 games by the Phoenix Suns in the first round.

The Lakers team will look much different than it did last year after they acquired Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Deandre Jordan, Rajon Rondo, Malik Monk, Kendrick Nunn, Trevor Ariza, and Kent Bazemore.

The Lakers are currently the favorites to win the Western Conference and are only behind the Brooklyn Nets as far as Vegas is concerned.
