Minor League Pitcher Tyler Zombro Reveals Wild Scar After Taking Line Drive To Head

Durham Bulls pitcher Tyler Zombro underwent brain surgery after taking a line drive to the head during a game on June 3.

The game was postponed, as players around the diamond were noticeably distraught watching the reliever collapse to the ground. Zombro was taken to the nearest hospital, and has undergone surgery since.

On Thursday, Tyler Zombro sent out a series of tweets thanking fans and medical staff who have given his support throughout his difficult recovery.

Tyler Zombro, a reliever in the Rays system, has been in the organization since 2017. And was pitching to the tune of a 3.18 ERA for the Bulls this season.

It appears that he’ll have a long road to recovery, but at least his spirits seem to be high.

We’re all hoping Tyler Zombro continues to recover after an injury that left us shook.
