Kyrie Irving Reacts to Fine for Media Policy Violation: ‘I Do Not Talk to Pawns’

Kyrie Irving is setting the tone early this NBA season. The Brooklyn Nets superstar recently decided to  sit out a media session, claiming he has no interest in speaking to the media. He was then subsequently fined $25,000 by the NBA for failing to meet his preseason media obligations. Kyrie released a statement through his a spokesperson last week about not wanting to talk:

Kyrie took to Instagram to react to the fine.

Kyrie just can’t go with the flow.  He has to do things his way, and in the past, his way rubs everyone the wrong way. So pretty much chalk it up to Kyrie being Kyrie.

The Nets will open the season Dec. 22nd against the Golden State Warriors.
