Packers Tight End Marcedes Lewis Sends Cryptic Tweet Many Believe Referenced Aaron Rodgers Situation

Is Marcedes Lewis giving off a subtle hint that Aaron Rodgers is on his way out of Green Bay?

On Monday night, the Packers’ veteran tight end took to social media to offer a cryptic thought.

“Don’t get caught staring at your past for too long .. you’ll end up staying there. There’s so much more out there to be conquered. Trust it and Carry on,” Lewis wrote.

Despite the waves of fans convinced that Marcedes Lewis was referencing moving forward without Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback, it does’t appear that’s the case.

All season long, the tight end developed a strong relationship with Rodgers, and spoke on why it’s not that crazy to compare the future Hall of Famer to Michael Jordan and other all-time greats across sports. Specifically, Lewis thinks Rodgers feeds off the negative perception surrounding him.

“No it’s not crazy. Unless you’re there with him, obviously the media and news they have certain perspectives based on things they’ve heard. So you have preconceived notions based on friends of friends or or just media colleagues talking about certain things but, you don’t really know unless you’re there with him and I think he knows that and he likes that. He likes that you don’t really know him. He’s able to navigate the way he navigates because ‘what are you saying, based on what? You’re not with me everyday.’ I think he feeds off that.”

This week, it has been reported that the Packers are working out a short new contract extension for Aaron Rodgers to make him the highest paid player per-year.

Marcedes Lewis has two years left on his contract. And I’m sure he’s hoping both of them come with Rodgers under center.
