Kyrie Irving Continues To Make No Sense

We’ve asked the question before, and we’ll ask it agin, “what is Kyrie Irving talking about?” Well, Kyrie was in the news again today, as he had some thoughts on the coaching dynamic in Brooklyn with Steve Nash taking over as head coach.

Kyrie Irving’s comments came when he appeared on Kevin Durant’s podcast The ETCs with Kevin Durant.

One thing that we’ve all learned at this point is that Kyrie isn’t going to stop being Kyrie anytime soon. Therefore, anything that comes out of the man’s mouth should not come as a surprise to anyone.

I guess Nets fans should be happy that their two superstars are hanging out and still seem to be in the honeymoon stage of their relationship. But another thing we’ve learned about Kyrie (and even Kevin Durant to an extent) is that their relationships with teammates can go south in a hurry.

Also, the blatant disrespect these guys are showing to their new coach and NBA legend Steve Nash is appalling. I mean, I understand that all teams need a collaborative effort when it comes to leadership, and that includes everybody.  With that being said, Steve Nash was hired to change the culture for the Brooklyn Nets and his players should give him the opportunity to do just that. Jacque Vaughn isn’t going to “do it one day”, that’s not really how coaching works.

If I’m Steve Nash listening to this BS, I think I need to make it clear to these guys that this isn’t Kyrie Irving’s team, it’s not Kevin Durant’s team or Jacque Vaughn’s team, this is my team and I’m going to call the shots.

I think it’s scary that Kyrie still considers himself a guy that needs everything to be tailored to him. We’ve seen that whole story end poorly many times.
