That was the final price for a 1996-97 Topps Chrome Refractors Kobe Bryant that sold through Goldin Auctions. Graded a BGS 10 Pristine Black Label, it’s the most ever for a Kobe Bryant card.

In 2016, this Topps Kobe Bryant BGS 10 sold for $58,100 on eBay.
Last night, the same card sold for $1.79 million at Goldin Auctions — a new all-time record for any Kobe card, and the 10th most expensive card sale ever.

In March, 2016, the exact same copy of the card sold for $58,100 on eBay. Kobe wasn’t the only basketball card to pass the million-dollar mark in Goldin’s 2021 Winter Auction.
