LeBron James Reacts to Robert Sarver News That He Will Sell the Phoenix Suns

Robert Sarver is about to get his Suns ownership cancelled.

LeBron James has issued a response to the news that Robert Sarver will sell the Phoenix Suns in the wake of a workplace misconduct investigation.

Sarver announced Wednesday that he would sell both the Suns and the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury after an investigation concluded that he used racist language and engaged in sexually inappropriate conduct as the Phoenix Suns owner. LeBron offered up a pretty quick reaction on Twitter by saying he was “proud to be part of a league committed to progress.”

LeBron James was one of the earliest and most outspoken critics of Sarver’s original penalty, which ended up being a fine and a one-year suspension. So obviously not a surprise to see LeBron respond favorably to news of a Suns sale.

“Read through the Sarver stories a few times now. I gotta be honest
Our league definitely got this wrong. I don’t need to explain why. Y’all read the stories and decide for yourself. I said it before and I’m gonna say it again, there is no place in this league for that kind of behavior. I love this league and I deeply respect our leadership. But this isn’t right. There is no place for misogyny, sexism, and racism in any work place. Don’t matter if you own the team or play for the team. We hold our league up as an example of our values and this aint it.” said LeBron in his tweet.

Sarver has owned both the Suns and Mercury since 2004.

The purchase price at the time was a record $401 million, so he will definitely make a pretty penny off his purchase.

It’s not all bad for Sarver.
