So which baseball team does LeBron root for? Is it Cleveland because of his Akron roots? Maybe. It could also be the Yankees, who he has talked about supporting growing up. Or is LeBron now a Dodgers fan because he is in LA and the Dodgers are in the World Series? Fans took to Twitter to call out LeBron in response to his new fandom.

Regardless of who LeBron really roots for, the Dodgers definitely approved of his new fandom.

So is LeBron a bandwagon fan? I guess that’s up to you to decide. The real question is this: is it wrong to be a bandwagon fan? Imagine being a professional athlete who has played for multiple different teams. You live in different cities and grow to love different people and places. In fact, that doesn’t even require being a professional athlete. Sports, at the end of the day, are about bringing people together. Yes, it is a competition, but it is also a gathering. Rooting for different teams shouldn’t take away from the fun. I root for several different teams, all from different cities. However, I don’t feel that makes me less of a fan.

So I ask again, is LeBron a bandwagon fan? The only real answer should be “who cares?”.
