Dan Le Batard Gives An Emotional Goodbye During His Last Day At ESPN

Monday was a sad day for fans of ESPN and Dan Le Batard. The popular television and radio host announced last month that he was leaving the network, and today was Le Batard’s last day as a member of the ESPN team. He offered one final goodbye during his final airing of “Highly Questionable”.

“We could not be more grateful for your support,” Le Batard said Monday, according to the Miami Herald. “That gratitude is mountainous and real and forever. It’s the primary reason we’re leaving. You’ve given us the freedom to know we can. We know somehow you’ll follow us. We know the way you care about us — giving us permission to be different, demanding it of us, and then rewarding us for it.”

“We approach this scary cliff together to take quite the leap of faith. Are you ready to jump with us?” Le Batard said during his broadcast. “If you’ve been paying close attention, we’ve been ready to take this leap for awhile. We know the strength of the army that stands at attention at our back. I promise you, we’re gong to show you how much we don’t take that for granted. I can’t wait to take you on this fight, and this flight, with us.”

Le Batard clearly gets emotional during his message to his fans. All the power to him, he had one hell of a run. Le Batard’s wacky TV show was one of the most popular programs ESPN had, and he has been able to create a strong fan base.

It’s unclear what the future holds for Dan Le Batard, but whatever he does, he’ll likely be successful. Sports are fun, and they’re even more fun with guys like Dan Le Batard in the media.

Best of luck to him, ESPN is losing a good one.
