LeBron James signed a two year extension with the Los Angeles Lakers today, which has some speculating that LeBron’s deal has everything to do with him trying to play with his son. In two years time, Bronny will be graduating from high school, and he’ll be eligible to enter the NBA draft.
LeBron James‘ contract runs through 2023 — when his son, Bronny, graduates high school and could have option to enter the NBA Draft if the league and NBPA change the high school-to-pro rule. https://t.co/6bcMLgYTVV

LeBron has often talked about wanting to play with his son.
“You want to ask me what is the greatest achievement of my life? If I’m on the same court as my son in the NBA. That would be number one in my lifetime as an NBA player. I’ve thought about it because my son is about to be 14, and he might be able to get in there a little earlier.”
Twitter immediately starting putting together the pieces.

LeBron is lining up that contract so he can be a free agent and end his career with whoever drafts Bronny isnt he. The amount of tanking + tampering about to go down in 2023 will never be topped. No doubt in my mind Rich Paul will run out of the tunnel as a special guest referee.

LeBron’s extension will end in 2023, and Bronny could be eligible for the NBA draft that year if the rules change

Would assume LeBron finishes out the Lakers contract, picks up a one-year retirement deal with Cleveland or wherever Bronny is and that’s it.

LeBron’s contract runs until 2023 with the Lakers, the same year his son Bronny graduates HS and could enter the NBA if they change the high school-to-pro rule. 👀

LeBron's new $85M maximum contract extension lasts through 2023.
2023 also happens to be when Bronny graduates high school and could be draft eligible if the NBA's rules change. pic.twitter.com/lJDj8gLMtg

LeBron James will play two more years in LA and then sign with the team that drafts Bronny for the 2023-24 NBA season.
Like if you think this will happen.
— TickPick (@TickPick) December 2, 2020
LeBron playing with his son would be a fitting end to one of the best to ever do it. Of course it’s probably not going to happen, but you never know what great lengths LeBron will go to in order for him to play out his final seasons with his son.
It would be hard for anyone to hate on LeBron for wanting to suit up with his first born.
Can’t wait to see how this plays out.
