Four Teams Emerge As Trade Suitors For Ben Simmons

After the Philadelphia 76ers were exposed by the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA Playoffs, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that point guard Ben Simmons would be traded this offseason.

While the Sixers initially acted like they might be invested in working through Simmons’ struggles, it now looks like he will be on the block this offseason.

With Ben Simmons reportedly available, many insiders are now tying the disgruntled guard to potential suitors.

According to NBA’s Marc Stein, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings are interested in Simmons

Per Stein:

“If he can’t get a true headliner back for Simmons in connection with the draft, or when free agency hits in August, some rivals believe Morey is as willing as any executive in his position to let Simmons and Embiid start a fifth season together if necessary – even if that means some tension or awkwardness seeps into the locker room when training camp starts in late September.”

It appears that it’s still not 100% that Ben Simmons will be traded away from the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason, but a market for his services is beginning to take shape.

I, for one, would be pretty surprised if Ben Simmons is still wearing a Philadelphia 76ers jersey at the beginning of next season. It’s time for a change of scenery.
