Report Sheds Lights On When Tom Brady Learned Bruce Arians Was Retiring

Would Tom Brady have come out of retirement unless he knew Bruce Arians was stepping aside?

That’s the question many are asking right now after it was surprisingly announced on Wednesday night the the Buccaneers head coach was retiring to a role in the front office — handing the reigns over to DC Todd Bowles.

The Bucs were prepared for the questions. And almost immediately after the Bruce Arians retirement news hit the web, the Bucs let it leak that Tom Brady found out just around the time he decided to return.

They were (unsurprisingly) adamant that there was no correlation between the two decisions.

Shortly after the Bruce Arians news hit the web, Tom Brady had a long statement prepared.

“Thank you, BA for all that you’ve done for me and our team,” Brady said on his Instagram. “You are an incredible man and coach, and it was a privilege to play for you. You are a true NFL legend and pioneer for all the work you have done to make the league more diverse and inclusive.”

With Bruce Arians out of the picture, Tom Brady will likely be taking play calls from rising offensive coach Byron Leftwich.
