Potential #1 Pick Anthony Edwards Has A Very Strange Benihana Tradition

Anthony Edwards looks like he could be the next big thing. He will undoubtedly go in the top-five picks in tonight’s NBA Draft. With the added exposure before the draft, we often see weird stories or tweets from players’ past resurface.

Most of the time, I don’t pay any attention, but this Anthony Edwards story had me interested. Apparently Edwards had to be asked not to return to a hibachi restaurant.

An anonymous poster on Reddit claims that Edwards didn’t really get how Benihana worked.

“Apparently he didn’t understand how the restaurant worked and would casually bring in his own food to heat up on the teppan tables. The last straw was when he sat at a table hosting a large birthday party and spilled his large container of gumbo all over the stovetop,” the post says.

I low-key don’t hate this move from Anthony Edwards. Honestly, I think it’s kind of a good idea. Hibachi restaurants are dank but can be too expensive. It takes a real go-getter to bring their own shit into one of those joints and do it yourself. I’d do gumbo with Anthony Edwards any day of the week. Forget Benihana.

Anthony Edwards is currently projected to go in the top 3 picks. It should be an interesting NBA Draft tonight.
