J.J. Watt Reportedly Being Released by Texans

JJ Watt has been the face of the Houston Texans for a very long time, and now it appears that time is over.  The JJ Watt era is over.  Watt has reportedly been released, and he’ll embark on a new journey come next season. Watt was due to earn $17.5 million in 2021, which would also be the final year of his contract.

Watt has struggled to stay healthy in recent years, playing a combined 16 games in 2016, 2017, and 2019.

He played out the full 2018 and 2020 seasons.

If JJ can stay healthy, he’ll be one hell of an addition to a contender.
