Mac Jones Speaks On Struggles All Throughout Training Camp

It hasn’t been smooth sailing thus far for Mac Jones and the New England Patriots offense.

Last season, Jones put together a solid rookie season under Josh McDaniels. But after the OC took the job in Las Vegas, the early reports out of Patriots camp is that the offense has been dismal under the tutelage of Matt Patricia and Joe Judge.

Of course, Mac Jones has taken his fair share of the blame, too.

Still Mac Jones is confident that he’s going to “figure it out” before the season begins.

“I’m going to figure it out,” Jones said, via Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. “I always have. I always will. At the end of the day, you’re going to have your ups and downs with anything new, but I’ve learned a lot of different systems and the guys around me have too. We know what football looks like, we know what a good play looks like. . . . It just needs to be more consistent. We all trust in each other at the end of the day. When there’s 10 people that look into my eyes, I know they’re going to trust me to do the right thing on game day.”

During his first season under center, Mac Jones started in all 17 games for the Patriots and came in second place for Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.

He completed 67.6% of his passes for 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, leading the Patriots to a playoff berth.

Unfortunately for Mac Jones and the Patriots, they were completely blown out by the Bills in their playoff appearance. Hopefully for them, they’ll be laughing at these reports by the end of the season.

You’d think there has to be some cause for concern in New England, though.
