Derek Carr Reacts to Rumors That He’s “That Motherf***er” Tom Brady Referred to In Viral Interview

It sure appears that Tom Brady was throwing some shade at Derek Carr when talking about being passed over so an unnamed organization can stick with their current “mother***er” at quarterback following the 2020 season.

Over the weekend, UFC president Dana White revealed in an interview with Rob Gronkowski that the Raiders were insanely close to bringing in Brady and Gronk in 2020, before Jon Gruden nixed the whole thing.

“I worked to put that deal together for Brady and Gronk to come to the Raiders,” White said on the broadcast via ESPN. “It was almost a done deal. And at the last minute, Gruden blew the deal up and said that he didn’t want him and all hell broke loose, man. It was crazy.

“And Brady was already looking at houses. It wasn’t said yet that Gronk was going to be coming. So Las Vegas would have had Brady and Gronk the year that the Bucs won the Super Bowl except Gruden blew the deal up.”

Today, Derek Carr reacted to the growing assumption that he was ridiculed by Tom Brady.

“It really doesn’t matter,” Carr said regarding White’s tale of nearly landing Brady via Pro Football Talk. “At the end of the day, anything I say will just be blasted out there so I’m just going to completely remove myself and just keep trying to play football. It’s been nice just answering football questions. And hopefully, no more drama in the city. That’s what I hope.”

You have to respect Derek Carr’s ability to put the Tom Brady comment in the rearview mirror. And when push comes to shove, Raiders fans have to know that they could do a lot worse than having Carr under center.
