Zion Williamson is almost there.
The Pelicans star is eligible to sign a five-year, $181 million max rookie extension this summer. But after missing all of the 2021-22 season with a right foot fracture, Zion has played in just 85 games over his three-year career. Now after missing the whole season, he’s being cleared to play.
See the report below:
New Orleans Pelicans say Zion Williamson has been cleared in his return to play progression without any restrictions.

Williamson started playing 5-on-5 with teammates and coaches at the end of this past season, and into New Orleans’ playoff run. While he was never cleared to play actual games, now he’s ready to roll. Hoperfully there will be no setbacks and he’ll return to the court come the start of next season.
The NBA needs a healthy Zion, it’s just not as much fun without him.
