Utah Lawmaker Roasts Shaq For “Kazaam” While Coming To The Aid Of Donovan Mitchell

Shaquille O’ Neal went viral for comments he made to Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell after a game recently. Shaq just wanted the young star to know that he didn’t think he was a top-tier player in the league, and he wanted to know how the kid would respond to that. “You don’t have what it takes to get to the next level,” Shaq told Donovan Mitchell.

O’ Neal received a lot of criticism on the web from fans who thought he was either too harsh with Mitchell, or just flat out wrong.

Even a Utah legislator has gotten a jab in on Shaq. Kiera Birkleand introduced a resolution to come to the aid of Donovan Mitchell.

H.R. 3, entitled “House Resolution Honoring Donovan Mitchell over Shaquille O’Neal,” throws shade at the Rotten Tomatoes rating of 5% for his movie “Kazaam”. It also mentions his poor free throw percentage, and Shaq’s video game.
“I think it is appropriate for the great state of Utah to award Shaquille O’Neal with a technical foul,” said Birkeland, who was wearing a referee shirt as she spoke the House floor.
Obviously this whole move by Birkeland is petty, but maybe she’ll get some good press from all the people she represents in Utah by coming to the aid of the extremely likable Donovan Mitchell. Shaq is bound to have a response to all of this. We’ll see how he wants to handle it.
