Kyrie Irving Extends Olive Branch to Celtics Following Nets Getting Swept

Boston does not like Kyrie Irving very much.

The fact that he had to play in Boston during these playoffs wasn’t easy for Kyrie, who went back on his promise he was going to return to the Celtics, only to leave the Celtics to play in Brooklyn. Irving had to go up against his former teammates, and it is very clear that they had his number on both sides of the floor.

Irving decided to address those former teammates as he took to Twitter for the first time since the end of the series. Even though the city hates him, he does have a few friends on the team. According to Kyrie Irving, he knows Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and the rest of the guys are good people.

“We didn’t get the result we wanted, but I wanted to congratulate my brothers in that Celtics locker room,” Irving said. “They earned the series Win and I wish them well as they advance. Nothing but love competing against them.”

Remember when Kyrie was just a basketball player? Now he’s something completely different, and unfortunately it’s tough to like him.

As a player he’s easily one of the most gifted in the league, but as a person, the guy is a bonafide egomaniac.
