NFL Reacts To Report They Told Eminem Not to Kneel During Super Bowl Halftime Show

The NFL is not about that kneeling life.

Prior to the Super Bowl, a report surfaced that the NFL asked Eminem not to kneel during the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

However Eminem ended up taking a knee during the performance.

The reports about the NFL asking Eminem not to kneel may have been fabricated. Brian McCarthy, the NFL’s Vice President of Communications, was asked about the Eminem kneeling report.

He denied it:

“NFL’s Brian McCarthy on the report that the league told Eminem not to kneel during the halftime show: “Report was erroneous. We watched all elements of the show during numerous rehearsals this week.”

What isn’t exactly clear is who Eminem was kneeling for. Was it to pay tribute to Colin Kaepernick, or was Eminem kneeling in support of domestic violence victims?

We’ll probably never know for sure, but let’s just assume it was his way of saying FU to the league.

Eminem is a legend.
