NFL Coach Has Prediction On Cuts Next Week: ‘It’s Going To Be A Massacre’

We’ve already had a pretty wild NFL offseason, and it really hasn’t even begun yet. Deshaun Watson has demanded a trade, Russell Wilson isn’t happy, J.J. Watt is in Arizona, Matthew Stafford is in L.A. and young quarterbacks are all over the trading block.

Is it possible thing are going to get even crazier? According to an anonymous NFL coach, yes.

ESPN’s Diana Russini tweeted out that she received a text from a NFL head coach on what he expects for the upcoming cuts and free agency period around the league. The coach replied, ““it’s going to be a massacre next week all around the league.”

We’ve already seen some casualties. The Raiders released long time guard Gabe Jackson, the Texans released Nick Martin, the Dolphins released linebacker Kyle Van Noy.

It seems like general managers are starting to get an idea on where the salary cap will be for next season. According to a report, the number will be around $180 Million.

With this number becoming known, expect teams to start shaping (or re-shaping) their rosters accordingly.

With so many teams in need of a quarterback and trying to make a splash, mixed with the fact that teams are suffering financial from the ramifications of COVID-19, I’d expect one hell of an offseason. I think it’s very possible that the NFL sees more moving pieces than ever before. This will make for an exciting time for fans, but it could lead to an interesting precedent being set.

Buckle up, this offseason should be insane.
