Shaheen was very vocal during his press conference with media Saturday stating that he is not going to wear a mask or get the vaccine and that it should be everyone’s freedom to do what they want.

He stated that “it was a personal choice and that it’s bigger than just COVID,” and that he wouldn’t elaborate on it any further.

The NFL has been clear with their approach to try and get every player and coach vaccinated prior to the start of the season to mitigate the risk of breakouts, postponements, and scheduling conflicts, but many of the players are still staying firm in their personal choice to not be vaccinated.

Shaheen has been very vocal about the policies put in place by the NFL. His Twitter profile states that “I will not comply” and his location is set to “somewhere without a mask”.

Shaheen appeared in all 16 games last season for the Dolphins, starting 5 of them, while recording 12 receptions for 150 yards and 3 TDs. Shaheen signed a two-year $7.65 million extension with the Dolphins this past off-season.
