The Packers Sent a Very Public Message to Aaron Rodgers Over the Weekend

In the war of words between Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, public perception is everything. The Green Bay Packers front office is staying quiet on what their plan is for Aaron Rodgers, even though it’s apparent he would like to be traded to another team. Packers president Mark Murphy wrote in his monthly column that judging by the messages he’s getting, the fan base is completely divided on the Rodgers situation.

See his comments below:

“The situation we face with Aaron Rodgers has divided our fan base. The emails and letters that I’ve received reflect this fact. As I wrote here last month, we remain committed to resolving things with Aaron and want him to be our quarterback in 2021 and beyond. We are working to resolve the situation and realize that the less both sides say publicly, the better.”

The most telling part of his comments that no doubt were intended to get back to Aaron,Ā  areĀ  first, the Packers arenā€™t budging on keeping Rodgers in the fold ā€œin 2021 and beyond.” And second, Murphy made a point of giving general manager Brian Gutekunst his full backing.

Rodgers pretty much confirmed all of the reports about his unhappy feelings toward the Packers on “SportsCenter” last month, essentially saying that he’s disappointed with how the organization has treated him after so many years.

The longerĀ  this goes on, theĀ  harder it’s going to be for a reconciliation.

The ball’s really in Aaron’s corner, we’ll have to wait and see if he shows up for mandatory mini training camp tomorrow.
