NBA Analyst Says One Lakers Player Could ‘Blow Up’ With The Chicago Bulls

At one point, the Chicago Bulls were positioned to make the playoffs for the first time in a few years. But after a late-season collapse, Bill Donovan’s squad missed out on the play-in tournament, and will enjoy the postseason at home.

While the Bulls may have had a disappointing end to their season, they appear to be building around Zach LaVine, and will look to add to their core this offseason.

With the free agency market still very much up-in-the-air, Bleacher Reports’ Mandela Namaste has an idea for the Chicago Bulls. Namaste thinks Lakers wing Talen Horton-Tucker can be a real good fit with what the Bulls are trying to do.

Why Talen Horton-Tucker Makes Sense With The Chicago Bulls

Here’s what Namaste said about the likelihood that the Lakers move on from Talen Horton-Tucker–who is set to be a restricted free agent at seasons end:

Neither Anthony Davis nor LeBron had suffered their season-altering injuries when Windhorst relayed that theory, and their absences may have reminded the Lakers of the urgency to win as much as possible while LeBron is still in peak form. If that’s the case, then GM Rob Pelinka may look to acquire more experienced veterans in the offseason, potentially sacrificing a less-developed prospect like Horton-Tucker in the process.

Talen Horton-Tucker has rode the bench for the majority of the Lakers’ playoff games, but the 20-year-old showed some flashes of promise throughout the year with L.A.

A move back to Chicago would be a homecoming for Horton-Tucker, who graduated from Simeon Career Academy High School (the same school Derrick Rose went to).

On the year, Talen Horton-Tucker averaged nine points and showed off some pretty good defense.

With the lakers in win-or-bust mode, Talen Horton-Tucker might not makes sense for their immediate future. But don’t be shocked if he lands back home in Chicago with a young, promising, rebuilding Bulls team.
