Shaka Smart’s Texas Longhorns basketball team defeated Davidson 78-76 in a nail-biter at the Maui Invitational. The win pushed Shaka Smart’s boys to 2-0 on the season, and will keep them in the top-25.

Smart’s trying to make a run this year after not making the tournament for the previous two years. Shaka is hoping that his new look will bring good luck for this season.

Some people are thinking Shaka Smart having hair will lead to good luck for a Texas longhorns program that has been down in the dumps for some time now. The last time the Longhorns made it past the second round of the NCAA Tournament, it was 2013, and Rick Barnes was their coach.

I gotta say, Smart looks like a completely different guy with hair. It’ll take some time to get used to it. I kind of thought the bald look was better for Shaka. However, if Texas keeps on winning, I wouldn’t expect Shaka Smart to lose the hair anytime soon.
