Patrick Mahomes Card Collection Could Make Millions For One Texas Tech Fan Couple

A pair of Texas Tech fans, 29-year-old Robert DeArmitt Jr. and his wife Heidi, have been collecting Patrick Mahomes cards for nearly 3 years. According to Robert, he and Heidi saw Mahomes play often in college and had a gut feeling the young quarterback would be a star for the Chiefs, so they started putting the pieces together and acquiring Mahomes cards one by one. Now their collection is going for an asking price on eBay of $7.5 million.

Robert and his wife made their first investment of $275 shortly after Mahomes’ first start as a rookie in Kansas City. That card alone is now selling for a whopping $400,000. Overall the couple has spent about $20,000 on a collection of 33 cards. Most of the cards are 1-of-1 prints, making them the only ones in existence. Now the couple is looking to sell their collection of Mahomes cards for a profit of 375 times their investment.

Robert told TMZ that he has already received multiple 7-figure offers, but he believes that, at its floor, the collection is worth $7.5 million. This may seem ridiculous, but remember just two months ago Vegas Dave made history after selling his one-of-a-kind Mike Trout 2009 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects Superfractor trading card for $3.84 million. The highest price ever paid for a single card.

Moral of the story: there is a lot of money to be made on eBay if you know what you are doing. So if you want to buy Robert’s collection of Mahomes cards you better be ready to pay the piper.
