Patrick Mahomes Reacts to Rihanna Headlining Super Bowl halftime Show: ‘She Has a lot of Bangers’

Pat Mahomes is all in on the Super Bowl halftime entertainment.

A really big part of the Super Bowl is the halftime show, which often features huge stars in music from every genre to celebrate football’s annual tradition. The Super Bowl performer for next February’s contest is definitely a well known name a big star in her own right. Rihanna was announced as the halftime performer this past Sunday in collaboration with Roc Nation and Apple Music for Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona. Some fans were calling her a hypocrite for agreeing to perform.

Patrick Mahomes was not one of them.

Speaking to Carrington Harrison on 610 Sports Radio show “The Drive” for his weekly check-in, Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes shared his thoughts on Rihanna being announced as the Super Bowl halftime performer.

“Rihanna has a lot of bangers,” said Mahomes. “Brittany (Mahomes) was pretty hyped about (her performing at the Super Bowl Halftime show). She’s a legend as well. Hopefully, we can be in the game and record it and watch it afterward. I have not met Rihanna – she’s one of the greatest to do it.”

Chiefs punter Tommy Townsend was also enjoying the Rihanna announcement. He tweeted his thoughts on her promotional photo that was shared during the announcement.

If Patrick ends up seeing the halftime show live, it means he didn’t make it to the Big Game, so not a bad consolation prize.

Mahomes’ two Super Bowl appearances featured halftime performances from Shakira and Jennifer Lopez in Miami and The Weeknd in Tampa Bay.
