Mike Tomlin Wasn’t Very Happy With His Team’s Maskless Celebration on Sunday

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has continued to hold his team accountable for their actions on and off the field. Tomlin runs a tight ship, which has lead to a lot of his success in Pittsburgh.

After the Steelers mounted their comeback win over the Colts and clinched the AFC North, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool, and other Steelers players took to TikTok to celebrate.

The NFL has fined teams for posting similar videos where teammates aren’t socially distancing or wearing masks. Tomlin said he still hasn’t heard from the league on the particular matter, but that he expects better from his players.

“I haven’t heard directly from the NFL, but our organization has … that’s something we’re going to address with our group,” Tomlin said.  “We have to control our emotions. It’s a continual education process to adhere to protocols of the pandemic.”

This isn’t the first time Tomlin has had to speak out against his team doing TikTok dances, either. JuJu Smith-Schuster had a pregame routine of doing a TikTok dance on opponent’s logos before Tomlin told him it was enough of all that.
