Michael Jordan Weighs In On LaMelo Ball’s Impressive Rookie Season

LaMelo Ball has to do a lot to impressive his owner Michael Jordan. So far, the Charlotte Hornets rookie is doing just that.

In the first half of the season, Ball is averaging 15.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game. He also set the basketball world on fire with a 30 point performance against the Portland Trail Blazers a few nights ago.

Michael Jordan was asked what he thinks of LaMelo Ball taking the NBA by storm recently. Even he had to admit that Ball has been exceeding all expectations.

“I think Melo has adjusted to the NBA game better than any of us ever thought this early in his career,” Jordan told the Associated Press via The Spun. “He has exceeded our expectations so far this season.”

LaMelo Ball has forced his way into the Hornets’ starting rotation after he was originally coming off the bench to start his season. Ball has showcased his elite passing ability and basketball IQ all season long.

Currently, LaMelo is the odds-on favorite to take home the Rookie Of The Year award at the end of the season. As it stands, Ball and the Hornets are 17-18 and in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. I think I speak for most people when I say that I hope the Hornets cling to their spot in the standings. Seeing LaMelo in the playoffs would be electric.
