Matthew Stafford’s Wife Kelly Says Goodbye To Detroit

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford hasn’t been traded yet, but it looks like it’s a foregone conclusion that his days with the Lions are over. As the team is set to undergo a regime change, the veteran QB would like to move to a contender. He’ll be granted his wish.

While never really winning the big game, Matthew Stafford gave his heart and soul to Detroit, and the fans there will be forever grateful for his contributions. The love is mutual. Stafford doesn’t have social media, but his wife wrote a nice farewell to the fans on her Instagram page.

“Thank you. This place, our home, the people… it’s hard to find the words to explain what this place means to me. Random tears come very often when I think about not being here. This place supported me during the toughest time of my life and during the happiest times and I want to thank y’all in the right way.

Whenever I figure out what the future holds, you’ll be hearing from me again with a thank you that hopefully shows how much gratitude and love I have for this place.. but until then we are going to enjoy our time left in Michigan to the fullest because there really is no other place like it,#detroitvseverybody#staffordstrong” Kelly Stafford wrote.

Sideaction’s Latest:

It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for the Staffords. A lot of teams are in desperate need of a quarterback to get them over the hump. So far, it looks like the Indianapolis Colts are the frontrunners to land Matthew Stafford. Indy could give Stafford the opportunity to win a ring while he remains a quality quarterback in the league.

Best of luck to Kelly and Matt Stafford on whatever the future holds.
