All The Jokes Are Out After Andre Drummond Signs With His Nemesis Joel Embiid And The Sixers

Veteran big man Andre Drummond has had a long history with 76ers’ Joel Embiid. And now, they’re going to be teammates.

It was announced on Tuesday that Drummond was signing with Embiid’s Sixers for the veteran minimum.

Free agent C Andre Drummond has agreed to a one-year deal with the 76ers, source tells ESPN.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see if there’s any action between Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond once it’s time for practice.

I do wonder if this move irks Embiid a little bit, too. While teams all over the NBA have bolstered their rosters after free agency began, the Sixers have been relatively quiet. And still haven’t dealt Ben Simmons, who clearly doesn’t mesh well with Embiid.

Andre Drummond is an ok player at this stage of his career, but the Sixers are going to have to do a lot more if they want to build a championship team around Joel Embiid for next season.
