Texans Coaches Still Mum On Deshaun Watson While He Reportedly Seeks Trade To Denver Broncos

With minicamp well underway for the Houston Texans, the absence of quarterback Deshaun Watson still lingers over the team.

While Watson reportedly still wants to be traded, he also has his future in doubt while he fights over 20 sexual assault lawsuits turned in by various different massage therapists.

On Wednesday, Texans quarterbacks coach Tim Kelly was asked if he’d speak on the status of Deshaun Watson. Kelly answered with a subtle (but polite) “no sir.”

While the Texans sift through what they’re going to do with their QB situation, Deshaun Watson reportedly has another team in mind.

According to former Texan Kareem Jackson, Deshaun Watson wants to play for the Denver Broncos.

“I have a great relationship with Deshaun,” Jackson said via The Spun. “I’ve been talking to him the past couple of weeks man and like all he’s been telling me is like, ‘look, Jack just tell them that’s where I want to be.’”

Taking on the Deshaun Watson drama would be a high risk for any team. But maybe it’s be most worth it for the Denver Broncos. Drew Lock hasn’t shown much during his time under center, and the recently-acquired Teddy Bridgewater is certainly not much more than a game manager.

If Deshaun Watson is eligible to play, he would be an enormous upgrade for Denver, who have also tried extensively to land Aaron Rodgers in a trade.

The future is still very much up in the air for Deshaun Watson, but it seems like he wants that future to involve wearing a Broncos jersey on Sundays.
