Demarcus Cousins Hopes James Harden Was Watching The Rockets Dominate The Bulls On Friday

Oft-injured NBA star Demarcus “Boogie” Cousins is back, and he looked pretty good in his first preseason game. Cousins and the Houston Rockets defeated the Chicago Bulls 125-104 on Friday. Boogie finished with 14 points and five rebounds in the game and had some interesting words that may have been directed at James Harden.

Afterwards, Cousins shared a message to James Harden, who can’t play yet after showing up late to training camp.

“We’re not rolling over because a few pieces are missing. We’re going to go out and perform. Hopefully those pieces join us and we continue to improve as a team,” Cousins said via Game 7.

Cousins kept going, adding that he thinks they could be building something in Houston, although beating the Chicago Bulls might not be a great benchmark this season.

“I think it was a good showing, whoever’s watching, whoever’s interested,” Cousins said. “It shows that it’s still a really good team here, regardless of the circumstances floating around the team right now.”

If you read between the lines, it sure sounds like Cousins is speaking directly to James Harden with some of these comments. You can’t blame Boogie for wanting to keep James Harden with him on the Houston Rockets.

Harden has reportedly asked to be trading, and was seen out clubbing instead of arriving to training camp on time. Cousins wants to play with James Harden, and we’ll find out soon if he ends up getting his wish.
