Chicago Bears Reportedly Looking To Move On From Mitchell Trubisky After The Season

The Chicago Bears have a huge decision to make this offseason as it relates to quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. After drafting the UNC product ahead of Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes in the 2017 draft, Trubisky has shown some flashes here and there, but has been mostly terrible.

When Trubisky got benched for Nick Foles mid-season it looked like that was the end of the road for him in Chicago. However, Mitch has earned his job back, and he has the Bears offense playing somewhat decently albeit against some bad defenses at the end of the year.

With Trubisky’s rookie contract set to expire after this season, the Bears front office will have a big decision to make. Keep Mitch or ditch Mitch?

According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Bears brass is heavily leaning towards moving on from Mitchell Trubisky as their franchise quarterback.

Sideaction’s Latest:

If the Bears do, in fact, decide to let Trubisky walk in free agency, they’ll have a huge hole to fill. Nick Foles has proven that he can’t be your guy, and the Bears haven’t been too lucky in the draft. They’ll also have a late first round draft pick, and will likely have salary cap constraints.

Maybe Mitchell Trubisky will make the decision a little bit easier for the Bears if he can performs well today against the Saints.
