George Karl Roasts Carmelo Anthony For Sharing His Championship Aspirations

Carmelo Anthony is probably going to have his best chance to win the elusive ring this season after he signed on with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

When Melo was talking about his decision to sign on with LA, he immediately pointed to the opportunity to win a championship.

“I’m coming in with a championship on my mind,” Anthony said when talking about his decision to join the Lakers, via ESPN. “I think we all know that this is the one thing that I’m missing, right? This is the one thing that it keeps me up at night, it motivates me, because I don’t have it. I want that experience.”

Shortly after Carmelo Anthony’s quote, former coach George Karl came out of no where to completely diss his former player.

“And it kept our coaching staff up at night a decade ago when we were stressing the importance of team play and defense,” Karl tweeted.

George Karl has a well-known feud with former player Demarcus Cousins, and it seems like he has no love lost for Carmelo Anthony, either.

I don’t know, maybe I’m old school. But I’m not really into George Karl coming out of the woodworks to diss former players. Where’s the integrity?

Not saying Anthony was the easiest player to deal with, but Karl comes off like this old man who has this “it wasn’t my fault” way about him, and it’s not really the best look.

I kind of hope Carmelo Anthony takes the high road, and makes George Karl look bad if/when he’s able to win in Los Angeles.
