Bengals Rookie Joe Burrow Got Some Advice From NFL Refs

Cincinnati Bengals rookie Joe Burrow is no longer dominating the college football landscape. He’s a rookie in a league where no one is going to feel sorry for you if you lose. And certainly no will help you on the other team, especially when trying to safely slide.

But the refs, now that’s an entirely different story.

During Sunday’s 33-25 home win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Bengals’ rookie quarterback rolled out, and in the face of incoming defenders, dropped to his knees in an awkward-looking slide attempt.

The Refs were more than happy to step in:

“Hey I learned from the last couple weeks,” Burrow said to the Jaguars’ defenders after the play. “Y’all ain’t hitting me anymore.”

But from the referees’ perspective, the rookie didn’t commit enough.

“You’ve been doing good but remember, if you’re going down, just go down,” said one of Sunday’s officials. “Once you get blown up one time, you will get down.”

Apparently his Mom is not a big fan of Joey getting hit:

“You know, she doesn’t like them. But that’s how I play. She’s been watching it since I was in third grade. I can take a hit or two. She’s gotten used to it.” said Burrow.

The NFL wants Joe Burrow and the Bengals to succeed. It’s good business for him to win.

We know how the NFL loves their star QB’s.
