Ben Simmons Officially Caves And Shows Up To Philly

All offseason, we’ve been hearing that the Ben Simmons era in Philly is over.

Report after report indicated the Simmons was so done with the 76ers after his lackluster postseason that he was willing to forego his entire 2021-22 salary if he was not traded.

But following a long offseason where no team was willing to come to Daryl Morey’s terms for Ben Simmons, it became clear that he was going to have to show up if he wanted to increase his trade value.

Sure enough, Simmons has done just that, showing up to Philadelphia just before the season begins.

It’s likely that Ben Simmons still has the same feeling about the organization. But after speaking with his agent, Rich Paul, it became clear that their only real option was for him to show up to the team.

Now, it bound to be a huge storyline hanging over the 76ers for as long as Simmons is there. And there’s no way it won’t become a huge distraction for a team with championship aspirations.

I expect Ben Simmons to show up and shut up. But being the elephant in the room may prove to be detrimental to the team’s success.
