Aaron Rodgers Explained His Mindset, Frustration With The Green Bay Packers On Tuesday

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was the talk of the NFL offseason. After opening up on his frustration with the team’s front office, it was reported that the reigning MVP was requesting to be traded, and had no intention to returning to Green Bay.

After a lot of headaches with the team’s management, Rodgers has showed up to Training Camp. But he’s holding firm on his stance that he wishes he was more involved in the decision-making process.

He also revealed that the distrust doesn’t necessarily have everything to do with the Packers drafting quarterback Jordan Love.

“This wasn’t a draft day thing,” Rodgers said. “It started with a conversation in February. I just expressed my desire to be involved in conversations directly affecting my job.”

Rodgers would elaborate when pressed by reporters.

Reporter challenged Aaron Rodgers: Why do you want to be involved? Many of the players you wanted back ended up not having great years once they left. If the Packers didn't decide to move on from Favre, you wouldn't be here.

Despite his disconnect with the team’s front office, Aaron Rodgers said that he still wants to be a member of the Green Bay Packers.

Aaron Rodgers would end his well-scripted and honest discussion with reporters by revealing the obvious: Green Bay is a destination for players because they believe they can win a championship with Aaron Rodgers.

I actually thought Aaron Rodgers handled his media session as well as he possibly could have. He was open with his issues, wasn’t emotion, and transparent.

Rodgers was also not disrespectful in the slightest towards the Packers as a team, the fans, or the city.

Whether it’s true or not, Aaron Rodgers is sure making it sound like he’s all about winning. And he doesn’t think the front office has worked with him well enough to make winning a priority.

If I’m the Packers, I would have given Aaron Rodgers a seat at the table a long time ago. Seems like a no-brainer, I don’t know.
