New York Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin solidified himself at one of the very best net-minders int he entire NHL this season. And on Tuesday night, he was rewarded for it.
In part of today’s NHL Awards, it was revealed that Shesterkin had won his first Vein Trophy — given to the top goalie in the league.

When speaking to reporters after winning the Vezina, Igor Shesterkin revealed that this wasn’t the only (or best) news he has received this year.
Shesterkin announced that he and his wife, Anna, are expecting their first child later in the year.

Igor Shesterkin has been dating Anna Butusova for a long time, and both share Russian nationality.
In the NHL Playoffs, Shesterkin’s Rangers came up just short, losing to the Rangers in the Conference Finals. But still, it appears that many things are going right for the electric young goalie.
